Carvoeiro Area

Carvoeiro Algarve Area Overview

Carvoeiro is a charming village located in the western Algarve, in the municipality of Lagoa, southern Portugal. The Carvoeiro Algarve area is one of the most sought-after holiday destinations, known for its stunning beaches nestled between dramatic cliffs and crystal-clear waters.

The village developed around Carvoeiro Beach, where traditional houses with beautiful sea views create a unique and picturesque setting. Its narrow streets, a legacy of its fishing village origins, reflect an architectural style that has evolved over time while preserving its authentic character.

Carvoeiro’s lively centre is organised around three main streets and a central square. One street leads directly to the beach, another connects to the nearby town of Lagoa, and the third runs along the coastline, where you will find many of the area’s most popular restaurants and cafés.

Just 80 metres from Ocean View Terrace, scenic coastal paths connect Algar Seco to the Nossa Senhora da Encarnação Fort. The addition of elevated wooden walkways and safety railings allows visitors to explore the cliffs comfortably while protecting the local vegetation. These improvements include well-maintained trails, clear signage, and restored access points to Algar Seco.

These features make it easy to explore the Carvoeiro Algarve area and enjoy its breathtaking coastal scenery, whether you are taking a relaxed walk or searching for the perfect sunset viewpoint.
